Free minibus to The Black Rabbit!

July 24th, 2010

Due to added attractions this year, parking at the pub will be competitor / exhibitor only.  To offset this, an extra 500 parking spaces have been created by Arundel Castle Trustees, who have kindly agreed to open the overflow area at the rear of Mill Road car park in the town centre.

Normal parking charges will apply, but a free shuttle service will operate from this site to The Black Rabbit.

A more traditional form of transport will also be available.  A (chargeable) pony & trap ride will be available from the entrance to the car park, to really start your day in style.

Twitchers delight!

Spectators and competitors will get their chance to get up close and personal with four beautiful Owls.  Three Barn Owls and an Eagle Owl will be sited on the slightly quieter lawned area of The Black Rabbit.  They will be making tethered flights, and will be on display for all to enjoy their majesty.

Littlehampton Sea Cadets on board.

July 23rd, 2010

T.S. Sussex from Littlehampton will once again be assisting with safety boat cover for this year’s race.  Last year they had a very enjoyable day, but complained that not enough people fell in!

They will also be entering a crew to defend their Youth Team trophy.  Victory was theirs despite at one stage turning their boat over to see if it was any faster upside down!

Spirit FM takes the plunge.

July 18th, 2010

For the first time there will be an official Spirit FM team in this year’s bath race.  Three lovely Spirit lasses are aiming for the Ladies trophy, and the team includes some of Spirits’ ‘household names’, who I’m sure will be revealing their identity on air soon.  Stay tuned!

Bury Hill Bikers

July 14th, 2010

The motorbike enthusiasts who meet at Whiteways Lodge (Bury Hill) on a Sunday, will be bringing a selection of bikes for display.  From Harleys to Hyabusas the Bury Hill Bikers are also supporting Chestnut Tree House this year, and will be happy to show you their Gixer or their Kwak.  These are bikes not medical conditions – honest!  There will also be a BHB entry in the bath race.
