Fellow Chestnut Tree House fund-raisers, Chris Brooks and Joe Thompson, are currently planning the trip of a lifetime.  In December they will start a 60 day, 2,935 mile trip from La Gomera in the Canaries, across the Atlantic Ocean to Antigua, West Indies.  In a 23 feet long rowing boat!!

Chris and Joe will be present on race day along with their boat, and will be happy to explain about their recreation of Christopher Columbus’s famous voyage.  Hopefully we may also be able to get their boat in the river to accompany the bathtubs!

Whilst visiting the recent Goodwood Festival of Speed, your intrepid organiser gained the support of these two motor racing legends.

An A4 poster, bearing the now famous image of a cartoon couple peddling a water wheel powered bath tub, has been signed by the two best loved names in British motor racing.  This poster will be auctioned after the race in aid of Chestnut Tree Children’s’ Hospice.  Bring your wallets!

Due to added attractions this year, parking at the pub will be competitor / exhibitor only.  To alleviate the difficulties of previous years, (congestion and parking tickets,) Arundel Castle Trustees have kindly agreed to open the overflow area at the rear of Mill Road car park in the town centre. 

Normal parking charges will apply, but a free shuttle service (with disabled access including wheelchairs,) will operate from this site to The Black Rabbit.  For more details of parking restrictions and charges, see the ‘Contact – Travel info’ section of this website.

The team have behind the Bathtub race have been working hard this year to bring you some extra events surrounding the race so there is something for both adults and kids!

Here’s a little taster of whats to come… a full list and information will be published within the next couple of weeks.
